So much pain and suffering exists around the world, and we — especially those of us who live in a developed country — often take for granted many of the basic elements of life. So many people around the world are alone, hungry, sick, impoverished, or essentially are in pain or are suffering, and it's up to us to try to help these people — as well as any and all creatures and animals who share the world with us. And so, ever since I and my books have become entities in the public eye — and perhaps even a little bit famous — I have been letting everyone know early and often how much I care about the world, and to that end, I thought that I should finally let everyone know about the groups and organizations that already exist in the world that support the same causes that I support — and that hold the same values that I hold. With that said, listed below are official links to internationally respected and renowned organizations and groups that I wholeheartedly support, because the organizations and groups below continually strive to achieve what we should all continually strive to achieve: a better world.

With the above said, when I become sufficiently famous and wealthy in the future, I will assuredly donate to and offer my personal help to the groups and organizations listed below, and at the same time, I will also form my own charities that will personally embody all that I want to see positively changed in the world, and through which I — and everyone who helps me — will be able to effect those positive changes. Until that day comes though (and even after it comes), the organizations and groups below are some of the best around the world at truly making a positive difference in the — in our — world; and as such, they deserve any and all assistance we can provide to them — even if it's just our having awareness of their noble causes.

Amnesty International:

Amnesty International is probably the world's most universal charity. There is no limit or boundary to the work they do; they simply want to help make the world a better place — for all people — in which to live. That's exactly what I want, too.

Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation:

The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation is the world's most famous and leading group that strives to find a cure for breast cancer. I had a very close female friend who, in the year 2005, died of breast cancer — and not a day goes by where I don't think of her, miss her, or feel how saddened I am that she passed away. I hope one day a cure will be found for breast cancer, because far too many girls and women die every year from it — my dear, dear friend included.

Canadian Cancer Society:

Like the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society is also a world leader in striving to find a cure for cancer — in all its forms. And like breast cancer, I have also had someone close to me die from cancer — in this case one of my uncles — and I personally know several people who have been or had been afflicted with cancer, too. As such, I directly know about how important it is to try to find a cure for this disease called Cancer, which I think is one of the most critical — if not the most critical — diseases for which we should find a cure — now.

Children's Wish Foundation:

The Children's Wish Foundation is the first and best wish-granting organization in the entire country of Canada. Wishes are granted to any child who is facing a life-threatening illness. Although it may not provide a cure, to the child whose wish is granted, almost always the dire circumstances they are facing do not seem as dire, and almost always they can and do feel very happy. And even if the happiness gained from a granted wish lasts for only a short time, it makes a world of difference to a child during the time of their greatest need.

Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières:

Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders is the world's leading independent medical relief organization. As you can tell by their name, they are a group that exists simply to help people who are sick or injured — nothing else matters.

Good Bears of the World:

Good Bears of the World is a group that gives one of the most universally heartfelt gifts — teddy bears — to the people who need them the most at any given time. I collect stuffed animals and teddy bears, and I also give them to people I love, and so for both reasons I know how magical and powerful an impact a teddy bear can have on someone — especially someone who is sad. Teddy bears are truly amazing creatures. It's no wonder why so many people believe they are alive!

Greenpeace:

Greenpeace is the world's leading organization that strives to preserve the world, its natural resources, and essentially its nature and all its living things. We all share the planet on which we live; Greenpeace's mission is to help our planet last forever — or at least as long as possible.

Habitat for Humanity:

Habitat for Humanity is a global organization whose mission is to provide affordable and suitable housing to those who otherwise could not afford to have a good home in which to live. In addition, Habitat for Humanity's mission is to take the important steps necessary to help end homelessness or impoverished living around the world.

International Action Against Hunger / Action Internationale Contre la Faim:

Action Against Hunger is the world's leading charity in the fight against hunger and starvation. Regardless of the world's problems or ills, if a human being is hungry, even the worst problems seem irrelevant in comparison.

Kids Help Phone:

If you live in Canada, the Kids Help Phone hotline is one of the best places you can turn to, or call to as it were, for help in important life issues or crises if you have no one else to turn to for help. I myself called the Kids Help Phone two times growing up, and they helped me to get through the incredibly painful situations I was dealing with at those times. The Kids Help Phone toll-free telephone number is 1-800-668-6868, and they are available 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week, 365-days-a-year to help anyone in need of their assistance.

One:

The One campaign is an effort to eliminate poverty around the world. Ironically — and perhaps appropriately — the One campaign does not request or require any donations from anyone. All they want is your voice — which, incidentally, is a priceless thing.

Stop Violence Against Women:

Girls and women all over the world are harmed every single minute, of every single hour, of every single day — year — after year — after year. IT HAS TO STOP. The absolute worst crimes that occur in our world are crimes against girls and women, and it breaks my heart to think of how much pain and suffering so many girls and women all around the world go through or are in danger of going through. Every day when I wake up, and every night when I go to sleep, I always think about how sad and cruel this world is to allow such evil and sin to be done continually to girls and women — and consequently, it eminently identifies how very much more we — as human beings — need to do to ensure that these atrocities stop, and that they will never happen again. EVER.

The Ladybug Foundation:

The Ladybug Foundation is a wonderful charity founded by a 10-year old Canadian girl named Hannah Taylor. Hannah started her Ladybug Foundation after seeing a homeless man eating food from out of a garbage can, and after being so subsequently saddened by that sight she wanted to do her best to raise awareness and funds to end homelessness in Canada, and all around the world. I truly hope Hannah will succeed.

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA):

The SPCA is found all around the world, and in practically any city or town in which people live, they are the one group who are consistently and directly trying to help animals. If it wasn't for the SPCA, we'd probably have a much sadder and emptier world than we currently have, and considering our world is already rather sad and empty, that's a scary thought.

UNICEF:

The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) is an international organization that is committed exclusively to the improvement and protection of all children's rights and well-being. They are the world leader in their field and mission of work, and like the other organizations I have listed on this page of my website, they are truly one of the few great and good organizations in and around the world.

World Wildlife Fund:

World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is the world's leading organization that strives to save animal life, particularly those of endangered species. This world would be empty without the many wonderful creatures and animals that live in it; WWF helps to ensure that we — and our world — won't ever be empty.

Do you have, work for, or know of a charity to which I have not linked, and that you believe I would support its mission and that the charity shares my values? If so, please send me an e-mail at business@kevinwong.ca letting me know the charity's website address, and also please write a synopsis about the charity telling me for what the charity strives — and for what the charity stands. If the charity is just and good, and it meets and matches my own values and ideals, then I will link to it accordingly!

In any event, thank you so much in advance for your time in reading this fundamental section of my website, and / or helping to grow it if you have, work for, or know of a charity or charities that also belong in my Charities section. You're hearing my voice — let me hear yours, too.

Kevin Wong
