When you e-mail or mail me your fan letter, please let me know where you are from / live, and of course anything else you'd like to tell me! I'd also love to hear about when, where, and / or how we met, and if I said anything interesting, profound, or funny to you when you met me! I'd of course also love to hear about your liking or loving my Heroes of Destiny books, and — on a far-less important scale — your liking (or — gasp — loving) of me: Kevin Wong, the author of Heroes of Destiny. By the way, any personal or private / privileged content that is meant for my eyes only, or that is too sensitive or personal to share with anyone else, I would and will NEVER post on my website. I thought that this fact went without saying (and it probably does), but just to state it formally here, please always know and remember: I will always protect you and your information; I only share what is sharable with the world. And so, now that you know how to get in touch with me personally, I truly look forward to receiving your fan letters!

Hi Kevin, I finished reading Heroes of Destiny Episode I and it was one of the best books I have read. My favourite part in the story was when they fought the demon Grishkahl. Most of the fighting in the story was really cool especially with the whole party working together. The characters were created very well with their own special personalities and many different characteristics. The best character is Kevin of course. I love his personality. Is the Kevin in the story supposed to be like you? You did name the main character after yourself. I find it funny how most girls have fallen for Kevin. Now for another question are all the Eternal Knights pure at heart? There has to be a balance of good and evil, so if all the demons were killed then what? Or is there an equal amount of normal evil people in the world? Without the bad you wouldn't know what good is. It's not that I don't like the characters bring good in your story (good always triumphs over evil!!) but there could be someone that is both. Is there going to be more Eternal Knights in the next book? If there is, could you make a character that uses Twin Hook Swords? They are really cool so check it out. What about character deaths for a twist? Like an Eternal Knight dying? Anyways I am sooo excited for Episode II. I really can't wait for it!!! :) A fan of Heroes of Destiny

Hi! :-) Wow, it's really good to hear from you, and just to let you know, you officially wrote my very first-ever fan letter, and so that officially makes you my very first-ever fan, too! Thank you SO MUCH for your wonderful letter and your super-kind words. I truly, truly appreciate it, and I cannot express into words how happy you have made me to receive and read your letter to me. I'm incredibly flattered to hear that you enjoyed reading my book - so much so that it was one of the best books you've ever read! Have you read the first Harry Potter book? Compared to the first Harry Potter book, did you enjoy reading my book more? (It's ok if you didn't - I just want to know how my book compares to arguably the greatest book to come out in recent years!) I'm shocked that you finished reading my book so soon! You only bought it less than two weeks ago, and you tore through the entire thing already! That is impressive. You don't have to do this, but I read my own book many, many times, and each time I read it I always learned new things, and each time I enjoyed it more and more. Maybe someday you will like to read my book again. Have your other family members read my book yet? I hope that they will like my book as much as you did! Out of curiosity, do you have a favourite chapter from my book? If so, what chapter was your favourite? Also out of my own curiosity, do you like how I wrote my story with gender-neutral language, and how I made the many girls and women in my story equal to or even better than boys and men? I believe that everyone is capable of achieving anything, and that certainly girls and women are capable of achieving anything that a mere boy or man can. Thank you so much for saying that the best character is Kevin, which basically means that you like me: the real-life Kevin! :-) The character of Kevin is definitely supposed to be like me. Whatever Kevin thinks, feels, says, or does, is exactly what I would think, feel, say, or do in my own life, or what I would think, feel, say, or do if I were in the time and place that the character of Kevin lives in. What parts of Kevin's personality do you like the most? Having met me in real life and talking with me, can you sense the character of Kevin to be like me? As for the girls all falling for Kevin, do you like this happening? :-) I hope so, because I just wanted to show that if someone is good, it's only natural that people, especially other good people, would be attracted to that person. Besides, in my own life, I have had (and I hope I will have) girls falling for me, so this part of the story is just another self-reflection (or perhaps self-indulgence!) ;-) By the way, because the character of Kevin is essentially who I am in real life, that is why I will play the character of Kevin myself when I eventually make a Heroes of Destiny movie trilogy based on my Heroes of Destiny book trilogy. I hope you will look forward to seeing these future movies! Now, on to your book questions! The Eternal Knights are good and pure at heart, but like anyone, they too can become angry, or violent, or even evil. All the Demons from hell might be able to be eliminated, but the evil people in the world, they are the ones that, unfortunately, might always be around (as you observed when you said that there must be a balance of good and evil). However, I would like to think (and this is the moral of my story / book) that evil can be eliminated COMPLETELY from the world - it will just take a great deal of effort, and that effort has to come from EVERYONE around the world. As for an Eternal Knight (or Knights) being both good and evil, I don't want to spoil anything for you for book two (and then book three), but let me just repeat what I said above: the Eternal Knights are good and pure at heart, but like anyone, they too can become angry, or violent, or even evil. I hope that satisfies your curiosity for now regarding what I might do in terms of the path of a good character or characters in book two or book three. :-) There will definitely be more Eternal Knights / heroes / friends of Kevin in the next book, and then in book three as well. I cannot wait until you, and everyone around the world, gets to meet and know these new characters, who I already cherish and love with all my heart. You can let everyone know this special fact: as you requested, I have just made one of the Eternal Knights who will join the party in book two use twin hook swords as their weapon. Thank you for your request. It is my pleasure to be able to add this feature into my next book, just for you: my very first, and most special, fan. Lastly, as for characters dying, or an Eternal Knight or Knights dying, as you can tell from book one, I do not shy away from characters dying. With that said (and again, I don't want to spoil anything for you for book two and book three), let me just say that it is possible for anyone to die in Heroes of Destiny. Death is a part of life, and it unfortunately is something that even our heroes have to deal with too. Whose death (or deaths) (if any!) our heroes will have to deal with in the future, I will leave a mystery for now so that you will not have anything spoiled for you when you read books two and three. :-) I think that answers all your questions. If you have any more questions, or if I missed answering any of the ones you originally asked, please don't hesitate to ask them to me! I would love to answer them - and you! Just to let you know, I am currently writing book two (I am about 40 percent done writing it). If I devote all my time to it, I could be done writing book two before the end of this year, but whether I finish writing it this year or not, I probably will not release book two until next year in the summer or fall of 2007. By that point, I hope - with all my heart - that I will have thousands, or maybe even millions, of fans, who will all be dying for me to release book two - just like you are now! :-) But that is the beauty of it all, because like anyone that becomes successful, it all starts somewhere or with someone, and in my case, my success all starts with you: my very first fan. If I ever get those thousands, or millions, of fans, it will all be because I had my very first fan in you. And for that, I will forever be indebted to you. THANK YOU.

Kevin,
AWSOME book! I love it to death! Im half way through it, and I cant even put it down when I need to do something. By the way, im Sarah, Heathers daughter from computer science. I heard you picked up my lovely book. I missed you by 15 minutes apparently which sucks, I would love to meet such an wonderful writer. Heros Of Destriny blows my mind, its extremely addictive when you start to read it. I noticed on your webpage you mentioned liking Anime alot. I can relate to that. I read quite a bit of it. At the moment I have both 'Vampire hunter D' movies on dvd and I also own the entire series of 'Chobits' On dvd.
(>')> Sarah <('<) ^.^
From: Kevin Wong [mailto:fanmail@kevinwong.ca]
Hi Sarah! Thanks so much for writing to me, and for your heartfelt compliments of my story. I am truly touched by you and your words, and I cannot wait to read your story in turn! Vampire Hunter D (especially the second movie: Bloodlust) is awesome. I bought the first Chobits DVD almost three years ago, but I still haven't watched it yet (no time!) Just to let you know, my favourite anime series of all time is Please Teacher / Onegai Teacher. Beneath that precious series, my favourite anime series are Neon Genesis Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop, Berserk, and One Piece. Have you seen any of these series? I asked your mother to mention these things to you when I picked up your story, but I'll say them here too: Don't worry that there was a minor delay in finding, and then in getting your story from you to me. It was never an issue at all, and besides, I would have waited forever so long as I could read your story! It's fully apparent that you were, and are, a writer Sarah. It is very, VERY RARE, for someone to be able to (and better yet, want to) write just for the sake of writing, and also to write so much - as is the case with your story from when you were in junior high. When I was in junior high, I also wrote huge "short" stories. While other kids were struggling to write 3 to 5 page short stories, I was writing so much that I had to get special permission from the teacher to write 50 to 100 page short stories. You clearly had and have just as much writing passion Sarah as I had and have. It's so unfortunate that you were discouraged and disheartened from writing / following your dreams, because that never should have been the case in an ideal world, and so if somehow I can help to revive your writing spirit today, I will. Lastly, I'm truly honoured that you feel I'm worthy to read your story, and that you trust and feel comfortable with me so much that you are allowing me to read a story that you didn't - and haven't - allowed anyone else but your mother to read. I can't even express into words how truly touched and humbled I am by this gesture from you. Now that I've said that about you and your story, allow me to answer your questions about me and my story! I don't know why, but I never intended to write any other story besides my Heroes of Destiny trilogy of books. So many writers write tons of different stories / books, but I was always of the mindset that I wanted to create one story, but that that one story would have everything I ever and always wanted to say / write, and that I would have poured ALL of my heart and soul into that one story, so that it was and is the greatest story I could ever possibly have written. Does that make any sense? (I hope it does!) :-) In any event, one day, many years from now, I suppose I could write my autobiography, and write about all the things (hopefully good things!) I did or achieved during the many years of my life. Out of my own curiosity though, would you like me to write another story (or stories) regarding Kevin and his friends, or with completely new characters, after I write my Heroes of Destiny trilogy of books? Sarah, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for how much you love my story. I am truly humbled, and honoured, by your feelings. I'll read your story right away, and then I'll get it back to you right away too - along with all the compliments I'll have for your story Sarah (just like all the ones you had and have for mine!) :-)

Hi Frank. Thanks so much for your e-mail! It's great to hear that you enjoyed reading my book! Don't even think twice about my writing a personal message to you and autographing / signing your book - that's exactly what I want to do and do, do for people who receive my book. It's as much a pleasure for me to write in / sign a book as it is for the person who receives that personal message from me and my autograph, because it's another special opportunity and way for me to say 'thank you' to you or whoever it was that bought a copy of my book. And I need to take advantage of all those opportunities to say 'thank you', because if you and many other people around the world help me and my books to become successful, I will never be able to say 'thank you' enough. Plus, you're my fans, and if in any way I can make you happy, then that makes me happy, too! Just wondering, what about my book do you like? What was your favourite chapter? What was your favourite line or quote from my book? (I have quite a few favourite sentences / lines / quotes myself!) Did you tell your friends and family about my book? (I hope so!) In any event, I look forward to your reply, and I - like you - cannot wait until the second book is finished! It's when I hear such warm words from people who have read my book that truly inspires me to write as much as I can, as well as I can, and so you can feel content in that you are directly helping me to achieve what you want: my writing the second episode of Heroes of Destiny!

Hey Kevin. I read your Chinese article and I visited your website. You book is very well done, and I'm impressed with the amount of work you've put into writing. The novel sample, it was an interesting start. Flooded with descriptive words... very vivid. I like that concept of "West Meets East". It's a rare combination. Keep up the good work. I'm sure lots of people will be waiting for your next books! ;) I wish you powers to your endeavors, and best of luck in the future. I put a hold on your book in the library, and hope to read it soon! Tong

Kevin, You are brilliant. I do admire your site, and your writing (I just read a little of Chapter one, but will return and try to finish it soon) and I admire your drive and confidence in yourself! Way to go! You must have had wonderful parents who instilled this in you. Who are your role models? Your site is very readable and easy to navigate. This is important, especially for people with low literacy. I admire your aspirations, also your taste in music! I'm glad you know that helping others is our main reason for being. If we want glorious opportunities for ourselves, we must be willing to create them for others first. What we give comes back to us. Take care Kevin, and I hope to hear from you! Elaine Frampton

Hi Elaine. Wow. Thank you so much for your compliments of me and my writing. I am truly humbled and flattered by your words and thoughts! My parents are good, especially my mother (who incidentally I dedicated my book to!) My role models are varied and numerous, but off the top of my head I think Jeanne d'Arc, Walt Disney, Gene Roddenberry, Bruce Lee, Charles Dickens, Abraham Lincoln, and Liu Bei are people I admire. But if you ask me some other time, I might think of Bret Hart (a professional wrestler) or Shigeru Miyamoto (a video game designer) as role models! It's good to hear that you think my site is clean, usable, and readable. That's what I wanted...! :-) I'm really glad that you think positively of me and my dreams in life. It means a great deal to me to hear that other people want me to succeed too, and better yet, that they also believe that I can succeed. In any event Elaine, I hope you'll read the rest of my book, and I hope to hear from you again!

Hey Kevin,
As I touched upon briefly, the vast majority of Scifi/Fantasy could use a solid reworking from the ground up, and it's time that newer authors started paving that way. I'm sure that if you scout around online for genre criticisms of the state of fantasy you'll find heaps of good stuff going on. I haven't looked into it too deeply myself because it's not my profession nor forte, but it's one of those things I hear about in my circles on occassion.
Have a good remaining week!

Hi Hannah!!! :-) Wow - I can't believe that you wrote back to me!! I am TRULY honoured and humbled to have someone as worldly important as yourself write back to unimportant me. You have no idea how happy (and shocked) I am to have received your reply, and also to hear that you would like to receive a gift of my life's dream - my book - to your family, and of course to you! With that said, I will be sending your book to you and your family in the very near future (probably sometime this week). Please let me know when you receive my gift to you Hannah and your family, and if I can be honoured enough to have this privilege, please always stay in touch with me. I would be immeasurably happy to hear from you now and always. I hope the same can go from me to you as well - especially if I make it big in life, and hence use that success to make a huge, positive impact on the world, and all of its people. (Except for you Hannah that is, because you already have goodness and positivity in far greater quantities than I).

I just finished reading the first few pages of your book and all the comments from the media on line. It is amazing to see the creative talent in you. I am not a fantasy reader, but you did capture my attention for the last 15 minutes. I can see the potential of you becoming #1 and on the best seller list. You might get the attention of the Hollywood filmmakers some day. Like Harry Potter's books. You are smart, creative, and I am sure your mother is very proud of you. She did a great job of raising such a wonderful son. Keep up the good work and positive outlook. Someday soon, when US change the constitution law, you can run for president! winnie

Hi Kevin, I'm glad everything is going well with the book. I had been wondering how things were going lately since I had seen the book on Christmas Daddies actually. you never know how things will turn out on the first try and it looks like things are certainly taking off. I do wish you luck on getting a publishing deal. Things seem to go your way so I think that will be another one of them. Providing how work is at the time you are finished the second book, I would be able to design the second one for you. I wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I will hear from you soon when you are ready to get book II underway. Ashley
From: Kevin Wong [mailto:business@kevinwong.ca]
Hi Ashley! :-) Wow, I can't tell you how happy I am to hear from you again. It's been too long! Wow - you saw my book on TV? I didn't even see that. How did it look? Were you surprised to see it? How much money did it raise? I donated an autographed and messaged copy of my book to Christmas Daddies, and so I am glad that they decided to use it as part of the official telethon! Originally, in addition to my book donation I wanted even to be a special guest performer on the telethon, by doing a live reading of a portion or chapter of my book, and / or singing a song, but they had already booked all their talent slots for this year. I'm glad my book was still a part of the telethon though! I am VERY happy to hear that you are still the designer of my Heroes of Destiny books (at least book two anyways)! YES! :-) I will contact you when I finish book two's manuscript Ashley. And then, let's design that crazy book! Book two is going to rock people's worlds; it's a very dark, gritty, and intense book, and I know it's going to make people cry, feel upset, angry, or whatever else I want them to feel. Ultimately though, I want people to be aware of the problems in our world, and subsequently to feel inspired to make a positive difference or give positively to the world and the good people in the world, and to feel empowered and enlightened to be a good person and live a good life themselves. Because of the darkness (and violence, as well as the title "Sacrifice of the Gods") in book two, that's why I want you to make the book's cover background colour to be red. Red is blood, and people should know even before they open the cover that this book is going to be bloody. I greatly look forward to connecting with you in the (hopefully near) future to design and complete my - our - second book: Heroes of Destiny, Episode II: Sacrifice of the Gods. I of course wish you a very, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year as well Ashley. Please tell your family I wish them each and all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year too! :-)
With love and best wishes, always,

Dear Mr Wong,
Sorry for my late reply, I just wanted to tell you that the book has arrived.
My brother was so pleased (and surprised!) to be given this unexpected gift-- since, like a lot of young people, I fear I don't usually plan Christmas as far in advance as this.
Ben hasn't finished it yet, but has been glued since it came last week, and hopefully I'll get my turn before too long.
Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful and successful new year--and I have told all my friends and family about you,
so you may find another few orders winging their way toward you when birthday time comes around!
From: Kevin Wong [mailto:business@kevinwong.ca]
Hi Patsy. That's great! I'm so glad that the book arrived, and that everyone (especially Ben) is enjoying it! I hope that your Christmas went very well, and that New Year's Eve was great for you too. I cannot wait until Ben, yourself, and anyone else in your family / you know reads my book. Please have Ben or yourself or anyone write to me letting me know whether they liked reading my book - I would of course love to hear such things! :-) I am very glad that my book is in the hands of your family, and to now have been acquainted with you Patsy / your great family. Please feel free to contact me anytime (whether yourself or any member of your family), and I hope that in the future we may meet one another so that I can greet you all properly and get to know you far better.
